Carpet Tile Flooring

What is Carpet Tile Flooring
Carpet tile, also known as modular tile, is carpet manufactured in tiles or as piece goods. Carpet tile is commonly cut to 18-inch by 18-inch, 24-inch by 24-inch, or 36-inch by 36-inch squares but some carpet makers think outside the box and offer hexagons.  The carpet is originally manufactured as broadloom and then cut into tiles or modules.  So, as you may expect, some of the modular carpet is also available in a matching broadloom (which functions as a coordinating product).  We will attempt to save our customers money by blending the smart application of broadloom and modular.  The backing is constructed in a way to prevent unraveling

Patterns.  The pattern of the face yarn will frequently be described as geometric, graphic, linear, organic, prints, solid, and tweed.

Installation Formats.  The installation formats include ashlar, brick, diagonal, monolithic, quarter turn, and random.  Although, it should be noted that not all carpet tiles are eligible for all formats.  For example, some large scale or linear styles must be quarter turned and will not look correct if randomly installed.

Carpet Tile Installation Formats: Ashlar, Brick, Diagonal, Monolithic, Quarter Turn, and Random.

Installation Method.  As with ceramic tile, we first establish control lines against which we position the first row of tiles in a pyramid technique.  We install the cartons according to their numbered sequence.  The directional arrow on the back of each module helps our installers maintain the correct format or layout for one-directional or multi-dsirectional installations.  In most cases, adhesive is used to attach the tile to the substrate for a direct-glue installation.  However, some carpet tiles do not require adhesive.  The tiles are loose-layed.

**Installation within 1 day (if area less than 600sf)
